Dynamic Pricing

The Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office is happy to announce a new partnership with Qcue, the leading dynamic pricing software provider, to dynamically price men’s basketball single game tickets for the 2012-13 season.

Dynamically-priced tickets will provide fans with more choices when purchasing tickets as well as offer prices that better reflect market value.

Qcue will analyze Georgetown’s market to establish single ticket prices and adjust them, game-by-game, based on a variety of market conditions such as team performance, opponent, national ranking, weather, game date and time.

Rewarding Season Ticket Holders

Among the goals of dynamic pricing is rewarding fans for buying earlier in the season and protecting the value of a season ticket. The new structure only affects the sale of single game tickets and does not impact the sale of season tickets.

Dynamic Pricing Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Which games are subject to dynamic pricing?

A. Single home game tickets for the 2012-13 men’s basketball season will be dynamically priced.

Q. Will season ticket holders be affected by dynamic pricing?

A. No. Dynamic pricing only applies to single home game tickets. Season ticket holders will continue to receive a significant discount on the face value of tickets and will continue to purchase their seats at a fixed per-game price.

Q. Will partial season tickets or mini-plans be subject to dynamic pricing?

A. No.

Q. How will Georgetown Athletics decide when to raise or lower prices?

A. Through our partnership with Qcue, Georgetown Athletics has access to very sophisticated software which will analyze multiple data points on a daily basis. Timing for price adjustments is not pre-determined and will instead depend on market conditions.

Q. What happens if prices are lowered after I buy my tickets?

A. Tickets are always priced based on market demand. While prices typically increase leading up to a game, there may be times where prices will decrease. As with all of our tickets, all sales are final.

Q. Does this change how I purchase my tickets?

A. Not at all. Fans will continue to purchase their single game tickets the same way they have in the past- online through their MY HOYAS Accounts, by calling 202.687.HOYA (4692), or in person at the Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office, Verizon Center Box Office, or at the ticket windows at Verizon Center on gamedays.

If you have any questions on dynamic pricing, please contact the Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office by e-mail at hoyatickets@georgetown.edu or call 202.687.HOYA (4692).
